The Team Daiwa Fuego reel has been completely engineered from the ground up to provide bass anglers with the best high-tech features for a reasonable price. The Fuego is built on a solid, ultralight, one-piece magnesium frame, the first magnesium framed reel to get into this price range. A solid one-piece magnesium sideplate provides unmatched rigidity that guarantees that the drive train will stay in place for long life and cranking power.
The magnesium frame is built with a recessed reel foot to fit down low on your rod for easier palming and better rod control. Fuego features Team Daiwa’s exclusive Free Floating Spool that starts spinning with the slightest pressure, so you can cast the lightest lures possible. Daiwa re-designed their highly effective Magforce®-Z backlash control system to accommodate the U Spool, providing more line capacity with better and more precise backlash control than centrifugal brake systems.

Unlike other reels, where the pinion gear constantly rides the spool shaft, Daiwa’s unique system floats the spool independently on precision, stainless steel ball bearings. Because the pinion rides its own separate shaft, the spool spins freely, unhampered by gear train friction when casting.

AUTOMATIC MAGNETIC BRAKE
Magforce®-Z is the latest generation of Daiwa’s unique magnetic anti-backlash control for the experienced angler. It combines the best attributes of old-fashioned mechanical braking with today’s advanced magnetic braking technology.
MAGFORCE-Z LETS THE SPOOLSTART FASTER AND SPIN LONGER
Because magnetic braking is only applied at maximum spool speed, the spool reaches a higher peak speed and remains spinning longer.
As you start a cast, spool’s inductor cup is retracted from the magnets—so there’s no magnetic effect to slow the spool. Start-up is lightning fast.
As spool approaches maximum speed, inductor cup automatically moves into the gap between the magnets to apply smooth magnetic braking and prevent spool overrun.
As spool begins to slow, the inductor cup automatically retracts from the magnets—so the spool keeps spinning longer, unhampered by magnetic braking
